The US economy is under threat! Tariffs on BRICS countries, promised by Donald Trump, could fracture it! According to Rais Hussain, head of political analysis center EMIR Research, the incoming US president's threats to impose tariffs on all goods from BRICS nations that refuse to use the dollar could split the US economy.

Hussain observes that many countries are leaning toward the idea of going their own way, independent of the United States.

According to the analyst, Trump's threats to block access to the US market, despite their absurdity, serve as a reminder of the alleged toxicity of the dollar. In this situation, there is an urgent need to diversify and strengthen trade relations with more reliable partners, he emphasized.

Earlier, President-elect Trump stated on his social media platform Truth Social that the White House would impose a 100% import tariff on goods from BRICS countries if they try to create an alternative to the greenback or abandon it. In response, Brazil's foreign ministry called the Republican's remarks "meaningless and provocative," asserting that once in office, he would have to take into account the realities of the global economy.

The analyst estimates that Washington will face retaliatory measures if Trump goes ahead with this crushing tariff on BRICS nations. Such an approach could fracture the US. economy and further divide the nation, he warned.
